Design Fever

As our closing date approaches, Mark and I are getting really anxious to make this house our own.  We've been researching styles and furniture in the 1950s era (our house was built in 1954).  We are going with a mid-century modern look, which, surprisingly, is really popular, and really expensive.

Thankfully, there's American Furniture Warehouse, the Wal-mart of furniture.  We've noticed that if you pay attention, they do have good, high-quality stuff.

Here's a few items we've picked out:
This is the Loveseat for the living room (we're getting 2 so that they face each other).

This is Mark's chair.  He's obsessed with this chair.  It'll probably be his new reading chair.

This is the dining table from Scandinavian Design.  We're not such fans of the chairs, especially white fabric with two kids.

This is the chandelier for above the dining table.  This is my favorite thing in the entire house.

This will be our desk.  It love the classic simplicity of it.
This will be for the basement.  We really wanted something cozy.  The fabric is corduroy which is so soft.

The bathroom is totally being redone before me move in.  We are going back to the black and white look, but then we're going to have punches of lime green to add some life.  Also in the living room, Target has the lamp bases that are purple glass balls stacked on each other so that will add some color to that room.

I can't wait to start decorating this house, it's making me lose sleep at night!
