House Update

For those of you following our house drama, here's more ...

The appraisal on the house came in UNDER purchase price, which will hopefully work out well for us.  There are three potential frustrations though:

1.  Closing will probably be pushed back yet again.  We put our initial offer in on April 12th!  This entire process has been going on for almost 3 months!

2.  More than likely, they will lower the price, but there's a chance they could take it off the market entirely, and sit on it for 6 months.

3.  If they do lower the price, they could take away some of the concessions they were giving us in our previous contract (which we were counting on) so that would just suck.  They agreed to give us $5,500 which $3,500 would go towards closing and the rest towards our down payment.  We have the money for the entire down payment, but we were going to use whatever was left (~$2,000) to start the repairs/remodeling on the house.

Mark and I go back and forth on what God is trying to show us through all of the issues that have come up with this house, and it could be taken a variety of ways.  I feel that if He wants this to be our home, which we think He does, then it will all work out in His time and in His way.

Like I've said a million times before, patience is not a virtue of mine ...

The one GREAT benefit from the appraisal is that our mortgage will be lower!!!  That's what I'm focusing on right  now.
